My Morning Skin Care Routine

health and beauty blog

The status of your health is very aptly represented by your skin. Good skin and bad health cannot go hand in hand. I don’t just believe in applying makeup. Instead, I ensure that my skin looks naturally healthy. Today I am sharing my morning skin care routine with you. It will help your skin remain healthy and youthful forever.

Wash your face with cold water

As soon as you wake up, wash your face with cold water. Doing this will help you in getting an early morning boost. Do not use any cleansers in the morning. This will help in maintaining optimum hydration in your skin. Your skin will feel more nourished and refreshed as well.

Use hydrating serums and essences

Serums will bring back nourishment to your skin. It will look alive and feel fresh as well. Essences work like serums as well as toners. They restore hydration as well as your skin’s ph balance. This helps in providing a youthful appearance to the skin. Products that you applied overnight are also removed easily with the help of toners and essences.

Drink Water

You don’t just have to hydrate your skin from the outside. You also need to drink water to keep it glowing from the inside. Most of you start your mornings with a cup of coffee. Instead of this, start drinking water every morning and see the changes in your skin. It will become soft and supple. I drink at least two glasses of cold water as soon as I wake up.

You can do yoga, exercise, or hit the gym after performing these simple steps. Later, you can come back and perform the next few steps for great skin.

Cleanse

Now is a great time to cleanse your skin and make it free of dirt and oil. Simply use a gentle cleanser and lightly foam your face. Wash it after a minute and get clear skin. You should not opt for a cleanser that dries your skin. Women with oily skin tend to buy harsh facial cleansers. This dries their skin, and it starts producing more oil. Consequently, you will end up with clogged pores and acne.

Moisturize

Now it is the time to moisturize your hair. You should opt for a gentle, lightweight moisturizer that gets easily absorbed into the skin. Do not go for heavier creams that weigh your skin down and give it a glossy look. Note that a soft shiny and glowy look is acceptable but we don’t want a cream that shines like gel nail polish on your face and makes it look dull. Always remember to pat the moisturizer on your face. Never rub the solution in.

Sunscreen

This is the most essential part of my morning skin care routine. I usually choose a moisturizer with SPF and add up extra protection with a good quality sunscreen. I always choose broad spectrum protection as it helps in protecting against UVA and UVB rays. I also choose lip balms with sunscreen.

All the makeup that I put on my face goes after sunscreen. It is important to layer up your skin with hydrating moisturizers and a good sunscreen before putting any makeup on.
